Ever since the Texas attack, people on social media have united in their prayers for the victims and are offering their condolescenes. While some expressed their shock at an open fire that took place at a church, others asked their fellow "American patriots" to protect themselves "from evil".

A gunman opened fire in a church in Texas killing 26 people and injuring several others. The incident took place at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, a small community about 50 kilometers southeast of San Antonio. According to reports, the gunman walked into a morning service at the church, some time before noon and opened fire on the attendees. Officials said that a civilian with a gun opposed the attacker and apparently chased him away. Later the shooter was found dead in his car with ammunition. Although there have been no confirmation regarding the identity of the shooter, two officials speaking to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity identified him as David Kelly.

Ever since the attack, that closely followed the brutal attack on Las Vegas on October 1, people on social media have united in their prayers for the victims and are offering their condolescenes. While some expressed their shock, others asked their fellow “American patriots” to protect themselves “from evil”. “If someone is crazy enough to murder people at a Church, #GunControlNow won’t stop him. He will find a way to murder”, read a tweet while another called out the fact that the name of the attacker was not mentioned. “Vegas, now #Texas: It’s time we called these attacks by their name: far left terrorism. Kill us AND take our rights too? Never gonna happen!” read the tweet.
