So many races on the ballot.

Generally, GOP statewide candidates in deep blue states and Dem candidates in deep red states are moderates.

But there are 28 races on my TX November ballot, and after looking at the options... holy cow. There's a lot of GOP voters who don't exactly like the whole Trump populist thing who would trip over themselves to vote for a Manchin or Sinema type Democrat over MAGA in some races, but nearly all the Democrats here are acting like they're running in California.

Are other red states seeing the same trend as here, or is Texas just aberrant this year?

Some of the races that are local make total sense. Like... Dallas county is blue, and in most Dallas county races, there's a Democrat running unopposed and the Republicans aren't even fielding opposition.

But the statewide race radicals are what's surprising to me.

I'm not even planning to vote in more than half the races. Of the ones I am voting in, I'm only voting for Democrats in 16% of them, and usually that total is higher (I tend to lean Dem in two option races on stuff like Sheriff and judges an such most years). There's two Democrat judges for the court of appeals that are pretty non-partisan, and that's really it for me.

If I had to guess on what I'm seeing? If voters are presented with nearly 30 races on one ballot, they'll only pay attention to the top 1-3. and simply party vote down the line for the rest. Kamala is presenting herself as a moderate even though she isn't, and Allred is a moderate. I think the Dems are probably counting on nobody paying attention to the other races because of the sheer number of them.
