It's still a long way from even starting production right now. They won't do a safety rating for a while.

Also tanks don't have a crumple zone. haha
But yes it may not be safe... for the person you run into.

Look up what happens when you puncture a lithium battery, the person you hit is probably safer than you would be.

The hardest crash I've ever personally see in my own life was a Tesla car and i was the first person on the scene. I'll take the tesla thank you.

I am a huge fan of alternative energy sources and lithium batteries definitely have a place in the future I personally don't see how daisy chaining thousands of 18650s together is innovative for the purpose of personal transportation. I have personally seen lithium batteries melt down and know that I don't want to be trapped in a car with thousands of them. Not to mention that he created thousands of points of potential failure with this battery bank design. Musk is a hell of a good marketing man but I just don't see how this is considered innovative or practical.

Well right now I'm driving in a vehicle that is full of fricking gasoline... that stuff is flammable in fact it was designed to literally explode if you weren't aware. And they have higher center of gravitates ... always a tradeoff.

You're right I never considered gas is flammable, (also incredibly stable), does gas melt down when exposed to water, or makes contact with metal, what about when you hit your gas tank with a hammer? I personally don't mind people buying or utilizing these vehicles, I just like people to understand what they are getting. BTW I like my windows being able to be broken easily (my favorite feature on the new tesla), it makes the first responders able to extract people when there car is on fire.
