Raducanu and Nadal named ESPY Tennis Player of the Year

Defending U.S. Open champion Emma Raducanu and 22-degree Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal are the two final tennis champions to be honored at the 2022 ESPYS Awards in Los Angeles.

Emma Raducanu beat Ashley Barty, Iga Swatek and Laila Fernandez in the Women's Tennis ESPYS Best Athlete award. The 19-year-old Briton made it through a fairytale journey last year to become the first qualifier in history to win a Grand Slam title. She also made it to the fourth round on her Wimbledon debut last year, but she has struggled to replicate that success this year.
