Huawei P20 Pro Review
From the begining I have to say that the Huawei P20 & P20 Pro has nothing to do with P10 and P10 Plus, and with Mate 10 Pro there are only a few common points: glass on the back, Kirin 970 Neural Matrix Processor and AI part, camera and video similarities.
Huawei P20 Pro relies on a 6.1-inch OLED display, it's not like AMOLED like Mate 10 Pro (the supplier is JDI and not Samsung). The resolution is 2240 × 1080 pixels, with an 18.7: 9 aspect ratio. The 0.7 that breaks the 18: 9 fraction is given by ... the top cutout (smaller than what we find on the iPhone X, but big enough to receive the 24-megapixel front camera with f / 2.0).
I see a lot of talk about the notch, Huawei thought about it and the software offers the possibility to disable it, a black tape accompanies it left and right. The fingerprint reader was kept on the front. Another interesting feature: The fingerprint reader can be set to take Back, Exit Home screen, Recent Apps, and touch buttons to stop working from the home screen. They are swipe elements, easy to adopt by the user.
Perhaps you don't like the cut and front reader , but the P20 Pro looks gorgeous from the back. You said it was a compact camera, all the elements were moved to the left side (company logo, the three photo cameras + double LED flash). It also arrives in a new color version, with a gradient from blue to purple, with reflexes that you can not find at any other terminal in the market, but also with prints that are highlighted in an alert rhythm (immediately wipe it off with a fabric , blue jeans etc.). The glass on the back, but also the three chambers that stand out beyond the general line would say that it requires a protective pouch, a pouch that will steal the beauty of the terminal.
The Huawei P20 Pro is beautiful and stylish, with simple back-line lines with a front-end trim and a fingerprint reader under the screen - easier to access than a rear-facing position. It's compact and slim for the 6.1-inch touch screen, if i remember - 7.4 or 7.5 mm, in the context of having a 4000 mAh battery
Hardware, operating system and applications
Kirin 970 + 6 GB RAM + 128 GB of storage space, of which 116 GB are actually found on Mate 10 Pro. We have a NPU hardware designed to learn from the user's habits and with a lot of resources at the processing power level (no problems running any app or game on Google Play, nor do I see what in the next 1.5 to 2 years - could cause problems).
Running the EMUI 8.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. There are no major changes to your graphics or organization (application drawer or all apps + home screen widgets, theme engine, manager application that removes the cache and remaining applications, etc.).
There are few preinstalled applications and bloatware I would say is minimal. Google apps specific to any Android Phone: Health, Themes and Phone Manager from Huawei. In the Wallet Tools category - mobile payments, Weather, Calculator, Sound Recorder, Torch, Mirror, Smart Controller, HiCare, Compass. There are 4 recommended apps that can be uninstalled: Booking, Instagram, eBay and Netflix.
For the camera I will do a separate review because it deserves a lof attention.
