TEFL and Travel v1.0

in #tefl7 years ago (edited)

Finally, got the courage to get off the island this year and follow different travel blogs read about travelling the world. We can only live once (YOLO), so no regrets. As a preparation, a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate is required to have better options and more non-English speaking countries to go to. This is not a solo trip, this was an idea of my wife Aileen. This is not my first travel outside the island also. But, this is my first TEFL-related travels.

We landed first in Vietnam this year. Each of us got paid around $1K per month which allowed us to save 3 months of travel funds and set for more travel adventures. These itchy feet just wanted to keep going, so my ASEAN dream was realized. A few stops with Cambodia, Thailand... then Malaysia. It is like fulfilling my vision one country at a time.

While in Malaysia, a few options opened. Turkey and China. However, Ecuador offered first. So we did fly all the way to the other side via Netherlands this year. New experiences, new culture, yet very familiar to mine. New languages learned. Still paid and a chance to exploring the Galapagos is a plus. Currently exploring more to Latin America, a new continent, not bad of an idea at all.

If you wanted to know how we did it, how we leaped to get here. Just ask. Cheers to more travels!! (photo shown below is a shot taken in Quito - October 2017) DSC_8862.JPG
