Support the project of the Russian solar car
SOL is the initiative of the team Polytech Solar Team from. Last year the project was supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
The body of the car consists of a composite material, which is used in rocketry and space production. Thanks to this, the overall weight of the structure does not exceed 200 kg.
As part of SOL, mainly Russian components are used - the level of import substitution is 80%. The car will receive energy thanks to solar panels with a total area of 4 m2. In addition, a regenerative braking system is provided.
The machine is equipped with a specially designed electric motor. It is claimed that the car will be able to reach speeds of up to 150 km / h.
The nearest plans of the Polytech Solar Team team include participation in the largest world championships American Solar Challenge 2018 and World Solar Challenge 2019. The length of each of these races is about 3 thousand kilometers.
