RES at oil fields in Kazakhstan
It turns out that the high temperature inside the wells can be used to produce clean energy. This topic was raised during the III renewable Energy Summit in Nur Sultan.
In Kazakhstan many deep wells have been drilled, they have been liquidated, but the temperature in these wells reaches 100–150 degrees. And the use of thermobaric conditions of the underground hydrosphere of deep layers of residual basins can be turned into”green energy”.
According to some reports Kazakhstan has oil and gas fields in the Caspian basin, where oil deposits are at a depth of more than 4–5 km, the temperature in them is rather high and reach from 150 to 170 degrees. The use of geothermal energy in these fields can reduce the need for gas production from them or can be used for redirecting gas as a raw material from energy to petrochemicals, which will provide additional income to the state.
