Mathew 1:21
"and she shall bring forth a son and you shall call His name Jesus, for He shall save his people from their sins."
Hebrews 9:12b
... He entered the Holy place once and for all having obtained eternal salvation.
Sin once stood between us and God, but Christ by death, took it away and triumphed over it for us.
Christ's death was precisely to deal with and take away sin.
Hence in Hebrews 9:15 he became the mediator or the man between God and man.
No space for sin, we are free from sin.
Sin can no longer stand between God and the believer, we have Christ as our advocate general. (1 John 2:1-2)
