Meet "Krause Duo" - The Craziest East German...Well... Car? Trike? Thing on Wheels? Barely Motorized Mistake?

Today I discovered this "Made in GDR" marvel of technology. I have known this kind of vehicle since I was a child in various stages of destruction. But first take a look and enjoy the beauty:

And now let´s discover all the inner qualities. That is particularly easy, because the left upper side panel is missing (at least I think so), so you can take a close look at the engine . The box on the right side in the cabin - right, that is the fuel tank. The dashboard can clearly be described as a reduced one...
.Ein Blick auf die inneren Qualitäten. Das ist leicht, weil die Seitenverkleidung fehlt (scheint mir oder hoffe ich für den Designer) und einen Blick auf das Triebwerk erlaubt. Die Blechbox rechts ist- genau. Der Tank. Gemisch 1:50.. Das Armaturenbrett würde ich reduziert nennen...

Well, now you could raise the question - who is crazy enough to buy this rolling mistake? Or: Who was it made for in the first place? Believe it or not, Krause Duo was made for elderly and disabled folks, they had to wait for months or even years to get on. And if you now think, this is an post-WW-II-construction - wrong again! It was assambled 1972-1991!
You find this thing today as a playing card via ostbloque.de and from time to time on the streets of East Germany. I have to confess, I never had a ride with this thing, have to admit though: I never really missed that.

Frage: Wer hat sich freiwillig in diesen rollenden Irrsinn gesetzt bzw für wen wurde der Krause Duo eigentlich gebaut? Er war ein Fahrzeug für Ältere und Behinderte und wurde zwischen 1972 und 1991 gebaut und mit monatelanger Wartezeit ausgeliefert.. Den Krause Duo gibt es heute nur noch als Karte 19 hier bei www.ostbloque.de oder ab und an auf den Strassen (oder Wegrändern) Ostdeutschlands. Ich bin nie mit der Kiste gefahren, habe das alleridngs auch nie vermisst...
