Galaxy Note 8: Extend battery life - you can do that
The battery of the Galaxy Note 8 should be enough for you to come with a charge throughout the day. If you are using the Phablet particularly intensively or you just want it to last longer before you have to recharge it, you can also increase the recharge time with some tricks.
Use energy saving mode
Like most other smartphones on the market, the Galaxy Note 8 has an energy-saving mode that can increase your battery life. You have two different modes to choose from, but with different restrictions.
First go to the settings of the phat. Then tap "Device Maintenance", then select "Battery" at the bottom left. In the next window, you will be shown quite prominently the two available energy saving modes. You can choose between "Medium" and "Max". Your Galaxy Note 8 also shows directly how much the battery time in the respective mode is estimated. Note, however, that depending on the selected energy saving mode, the device performance, the display brightness and the resolution can be reduced. Also some features are not available at all in the "Max" mode.
Stop App activities in standby
You can also reduce the energy consumption of your Galaxy Note 8 in stand-by mode. Many apps continue to pursue activities in the background. Especially games can claim several percentage points of your battery display within a short time. You should therefore determine which programs are allowed to continue working in standby mode.
Follow the path "Settings | Device maintenance" on your Phablet. Under "App Energy Monitoring", you can then set the "Applications in Standby" item, which programs may not be active while Note 8 is disabled. It is recommended to deactivate background activities for games or news apps: Layer applications that do not necessarily need to be constantly updated when you are not using them.
Prevent accidental display activation
Just because of its size, the Galaxy Note 8 screen devours the most energy. You should take care that the display does not switch on unintentionally. For example, by a wipe that is triggered while you have the smartphone in your pocket. Samsung has equipped the device with a function to prevent this.
In the "Settings" you must first go to the "Display" menu. There you will find the option "Block accidental touch". If you activate the feature, the Galaxy Note 8 will not react to gestures to activate the display as long as it is in the dark. This prevents you from accidentally switching on the display by double-clicking on the Homebutton while the device is in your pocket.
Reduce battery consumption by WLAN
If the battery life of your Galaxy Note 8 is noticeably shortened when the WLAN is activated, this can be due to the fact that the wireless connection is permanently active. So your Phablet communicates with the router even when it is in standby. To reduce consumption at this point, you must tap "WLAN" in the "Settings" under "Connections". Then select "Advanced" in the upper right corner.
Activate "Activate WLAN energy saving mode" as the first measure. The system will then generally analyze your transmissions and adapt the use of the WLAN to save energy. You should also select the "On charging" option when you want to extend the recharge time to "WLAN in standby mode". As soon as the Galaxy Note 8 is in standby, the WLAN is only active during downloads and will only be reactivated when you use the device. If you opt for "Never", the connection is always capped as soon as the screen of the smartphone is off. Maybe the latter increases your consumption of mobile data.
