Halloween, NASA Released Horror Voice in the Universe
In celebrating Halloween 2017, the United States Space Agency (NASA) released a playlist featuring the most terrifying sounds ever recorded during the universe.
The playlist contains 22 sounds from explorations to Jupiter, Saturn to explorations outside the solar system of the Milky Way. Although there is no atmosphere or other media to carry sound waves in a vacuum, some spacecraft instruments capture radio emissions and are sent back to Earth.
Juno, the NASA spacecraft, captured the sound of Jupiter's "roar" as it entered the planet's largest magnetosphere. The sound is recorded outside the magnetosphere on June 24, 2016.
"Juno Wave Tool recorded about two hours on June 24, 2016," said NASA officials.
NASA also includes the latest soundtrack from Jupiter's largest moon, Ganymaded. In 1996, Galileo aircraft flew first to investigate Ganymaded and capture radio signals thanks to the Plasma Wave Experiment instrument.
To translate radio signals captured in Ganymede, the scientists used an approach called data sonification. The soundtrack titled "Beware of Jupiter's Largest Moon Ganymede" records a powerful sound explosion.
The sound marked the entry of satellites into the moon's magnetosphere. In addition, NASA uploaded songs also consist of high notes that resemble audio from interstellar video games.
Another song from NASA's playlist also includes a plasma wave. The waves were obtained from the spacecraft that once collided with dust particles from a comet named Temple 1. The waves were also recorded from the emission of KIC7671081B stars and radio waves in Earth's own atmosphere.
"Plasma waves, like roaring ocean waves, create a rhythmic rhythm with an EMFISIS instrument on NASA's Van Allen Probes plane. We can hear sounds from all over the sky," NASA officials said.
