"Tesla" to build the largest battery to store energy in the world

US company Tesla announced plans to build the world's largest lithium-ion battery pack by December 1.

According to the information, "Powerpack batteries will be installed at Hornsdale Farm for 100 megawatt electric power generators, capable of providing electricity for 30,000 homes."

Experts note that the number of homes in South Australia remained without electricity, following the storm that hit the region in September 2016, which was considered the strongest over the past 50 years.

"This large battery will be three times more powerful than any existing battery," said Eilon Musk, CEO of Tesla.

Tesla has previously built similar projects. On the island of Kauai, Hawaii, it built a giant battery to store energy from solar batteries. The battery stores daytime energy for evening and night use.
