Is the OASIS from 'Ready Player One' possible on the STEEM blockchain?
If you have not seen this movie, then I will not give away any important details that you would not otherwise see in the movie trailer.
Now this movie is about a future where the world is overpopulated, and everyone has moved to an online virtual world called "The Oasis".
So basically this is a virtual world that everyone uses to interact, and has unlimited virtual worlds inside the Oasis itself.
What does this have to do with STEEM?
Well over 2 years ago I made a post called "The future Steemit Digital World".
When I made this post Steemit may have barely been only a month old, and it was a lot more simple looking than it is now.
However, here is some of the post, and I still think years later that this is possible.

Into the future digital world of Steemit!
Steemit is at very basic stage compared to what it is capable of.. We are a community of different people, with different ideas, and different capabilities. It is not reasonable to assume that the entire idea that brought all of us to Steemit was the "Steemit beta Trending page" because when I came to Steemit it was for the IDEA.
The idea that we could all interact socially and virtually without a centralized corporation having access to all of our personal information, and also this sense of bringing original positive creative content to this new community!
What's possible now?
I have mentioned ideas in the past about possibilities on Steemit like..
- Steemit VR
- Steemit Poker
- Steemit Exchange
- And even a Steemit style platform like "Second Life"!
I've mentioned this idea in the past..
The idea of a Second Life style platform with an economy/marketplace that uses the STEEM Dollar and the Steemit community!
Where Steemit could use the blockchain technology to build a digital virtual world.
Things like land, clothes, and other commodities would be created in the blockchain, and would not be able to be just created or copied. There could be limitations for our online avatars to incentivize things like transportation and regional limitations.
This can be a place where we can all virtually meet in this new "Steemit Digital World"
How can we be different?
Now unlike the times of Second Life we now have a great technology re-emerging called Virtual Reality (VR).
With VR and AR taking over the entertainment markets.. I think it would be crazy for Steemit to NOT get on board as well.
And even if "just a blogging site" might seem boring on VR..
When we imagine it as a fully immersive virtual experience with a lot of great content from all over the world..
It becomes a whole lot more exciting!
Conclusion
Now I know I used A LOT of animation in the blog, and I really wanted to provide a great visual for what I am seeing here.
STEEM is handling the most transaction in the world, and also has zero fees!
So with the world moving virtual, and blockchain becoming mainstream.. I think that if there are people interested in working on something like this we should make it happen!
