Who does not have a job in the country
On October 5 last year, Sheikh Hasina held a day-long job fair at Software Technology Park in Jessore. 30 foreign and local companies joined the fair. If there is a good employee, there will be a job, at least 10 thousand software workers will get a job-this was the plan.
Approximately 33 thousand of applications should be read. But only 17 qualified employees were found in the selection. The kind of professional skills that software companies want, they are not getting the same. But almost all graduates of job-seekers are graduates. Master's Degree If they lack such skills? On one hand, millions of young people are on the job, while hundreds of companies are searching for millions of skilled workers. The demands of employers and job seekers do not match. It is a big challenge to be reconciled. How could it be? On this issue the first light organized a roundtable meeting on that day. In collaboration with international labor organization ILO Some policymakers and expert-level people talk about how technical and vocational education and training are in the development of professional skills and how much public-private partnership can be.
Why young people are not getting jobs? Why are employers going to bring skilled workers from abroad? Not that we are skilled workers that we can not create. Principal of Jessore Technical School and College Syed Abdul Aziz said, some IT companies from Jessore wanted skilled workers for them. All the workers he had given to them got jobs.
This has been possible because he does not just teach manual. He also teaches the kind of skill that companies want. That's the main thing. In today's world science and technology are developing very fast. As it is written in textbooks, it may be outdated in a couple of years. New technology is coming to the market. Companies are using them. So students will have to learn the techniques of using the latest technology.
But how to use the new technology to learn the manual? For this, public-private initiative is needed. Before the employment fair of Jessore, if government and other educational institutions had a memorandum with different private companies, they used to conduct a six-month training course, arrange hands-on learning about the kind of skilled workers they needed, and even some of the arrangements for the students at the training level. If you could, 17 days ago, there were 17 thousand people in the software park fair Age could be picked staff.
In the inaugural address of the job fair, State Minister of State for ICT Junaid Ahmed said that three lakh youths will be made skilled in training in the IT sector in three years. So it is possible to create 2 million jobs in the IT sector by 2021. There will be no opportunity to say that there is no job in the country. To make this government's success successful, private enterprise must be ensured. It is not possible for the government alone. The job depends on the success of government-owned enterprises, depending on the success of the government-owned enterprises.
The job is not easy. For example, Abdul Monayem, Chief Executive Officer of Jam Jute Limited, Panchagarh said that he arranged for the training of government technical education students. During the training, there was a snack and some handkerchurch arrangements. At the end of the training, they also gave their job guarantee. The initial salary will be at least 10-12 thousand taka. After completing SSC, they completed technical-vocational training. Those who passed HSC and completed three-year diploma, they had more payroll arrangements. But then it was seen that more than 20 percent did not meet.
Why is this happening? The reason is a lot of mentality. Many people think, why do so many people to study the job? But in the face of climate disasters, the demand for world-wide market has increased. This industry now requires more than 5 million skilled workers. There are jobs. But many young people do not think. This is our social problem. A beautiful and transparent environment of dignity and work can change this mentality.
ILO is also helping to create skilled workers. They introduced technical certificate courses in different areas. But the ILO can only do the job. We have the responsibility to continue that trend. And it's very possible. We have great potential. But I can not use it. The Chief Guest in the discussion, Secretary of the Ministry of Education and madrasa Education Department said. Alamgir said a very important one. He once went to a technical college and found that the machines they were given for their practical classes could not run them. Because, the big machines are taught in the book, their models are different. So the manual work can not be taught.
Is this a problem? Large machines are taught in the book, and a small model machine is imitated in the lab. The difference between the two is knowing only if it is gone. Or the factories in the same machine area, where practical classes can be arranged for a few days. The owner of the factory will surely be happy. Because, after training, they will be the skilled workers of his factory.
Many people in the discussion said that every technical school and college must have the technology hub of all the factories in the area. If there is a problem in a factory machine in the area, they will go to technical schools. From there, the error repair method will learn.
In the discussion, ILO Country Director Tomo Pottyainen has correctly stated, to achieve sustainable development goals, not only the government but also the combination of private enterprise. They will come in a line. There is no alternative to creating skilled workers to continue development in our country.
