The New Era & The Internet & Our Lives (pilot epesode)

"hello world" ironically this text is the most likely line of output that you will learn how to do when you try programming for the first time.

I remember when I was about 10 years old, for the first time, I laid my hand on a computer's keyboard, apparently beneath this keyboard were all the other components of the computer that was connected to a monitor. During the 90s, and also being in an interesting war zone, in addition to sanctions on my country, plus another set of sanctions practiced by the central government in my region, finding a coca cola to buy was quite a struggle and super expensive, so daring to ask for a computer at home was totally ludicrous.

After a couple of years finally we could afford a PC, by then Windows 98 was out, so I was considering myself lucky to be able to get one. Back then I had to install about 4 CDs in order to get Visual Studio running, which I had no idea what might be programming, reading the help get me started understanding very basic stuff, and at the end, i had hundreds of abandoned projects that I had no idea how to finish.

Even life itself seemed simple back then, but everything else was so hard. Do you remember life before SMS and WhatsApp? So you can imagine if you wanted to learn something without resources, just to give you another example: I had a friend that he was crazy about learning music, After saving for an entire year and hardly spending at school, so he can afford 3 month of music course during the Summer, finally he paid for his course, but he couldn't afford an musical instrument so he draw a piano on a piece of wood, and this way he was practicing for his classes, ironically he didn’t bother the neighbors with his music practice.

After 2010 I would say, you can say you can depend on the internet to learn almost anything, from creating bombs to getting diplomas or even to make money online, and I mean making a lot if you do your homework well enough.

Now days it all comes down hot to ask the right question from Mr. Google and you’ll have the answer. So going back to programming my passion, I found comparing with the 90s, everything was available online, after all whom helped creating the internet? The computer nerds. Now you can pick up your development platform and you have almost everything, and if you are stuck somewhere you can always go to Mr. Google which then he will tell you to ask http://stackoverflow.com, there you go, your imagination is your limit.

Wait perhaps you are interested in another discipline, perhaps design, well again you can ask Mr. Google and he perhaps takes you to Mrs. YouTube, where you will learn everything about design and its tools perhaps sometime better than school because you are the one who is seeking knowledge not like you have to.

You are always welcome to check my things on http://smora.net

And if you liked what you were reading, please let me know so I can tell you more stories.

Good times, till the next one.
