Bangabandhu satellites waiting for space flight!!!
Bangladesh will own its own satellites as the 57th country in the world after successfully being in space.
#INTRODUCTION#
Under the supervision of BTRC, this entire work of satellite creation is going on. The construction work is going on in three steps. These are the creation of a ground structure for satellite building, satellite launch and control of the ground. The satellite is being made by France's Space Agency Thales Alenya Space. After the construction of satellite in Thales, it will be sent to Florida in the United States for launch.
The satellite will be sent to the space station by space explorer 'Falcon-9' in SpaceX. Although the satellite flying work is abroad, it will be controlled from Bangladesh. For this, work is being done to build a ground control station in Joydebpur of Gazipur and Batamuniya in Rangamati.
##TOTAL COST OF THIS PROJECT##
Total cost of implementation of the project is Tk. 2,967 crores. Of this, Tk 1,315 crore is being given from the government fund. And as a loan, multinational banks will give HSBC the remaining Tk 1,652 crore.
The biggest cost of around 3 billion dollars is the satellite system from Thales Alenya. For this, the cost is Tk 1,951 crore The satellite that flies on orbit or orbital slots, has been purchased from an InterSpotnik company from Russia. For this, the cost was around Tk. 219 million. The remaining Tk 800 crore is being spent on the satellite launch, construction and maintenance of ground stations.
Apart from this orbit, all parts of SAARC countries, Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan will be covered under Bangabandhu Satellite. However, in the Middle East countries, it is not possible to provide services with this satellite.
Talking to several satellite channels of the country, it is known that the country's biggest market outside Bangladesh is the Middle East countries. Now almost all channels of the country use the satellite called Apster-7 of Hong Kong. The satellite will be able to provide services to Bangladesh and Middle East countries including the channels. But it will not be possible with Bangabandhu satellite.
In preparation for the original satellite in 2015, its preparatory work began three years ago in 2012. US Consultant Company Space Partnership International (SPI) has been working as consultant to BTRC since 2012. According to the agreement, till 2018, SPI will work as consultant. BTRC has done all other activities including the feasibility study, funding, tender, orbital slot, in consultation with the organization.
After going to space, the work of establishing a company called Bangabandhu Communication Satellite Company (BCSB) Company Limited is now underway to conduct satellite operations. There is a contract with Thales for 2020 for recruitment and training of its manpower. The BTRC chairman said that all the work is going on to form a company with the aim of implementing the satellite in future.
