The most powerful of the four supercomputers of the Blue Gene / Q family, ranked in the top ten ranking, is located in the US at the Livermore National Laboratory. IBM developed Sequoia for the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), which required a high-performance computer for a very specific purpose - modeling nuclear explosions.

  • Titan - Cray XK7

Location: United States
Productivity: 17.59 petaflops
Theoretical maximum of production: 27.11 petaflops
Power: 8.2 MW

Despite its computational power and impressive dimensions (404 square meters), Titan did not last long on the pedestal. Already six months after the triumph in November 2012, the pride of Americans in the field of high-performance computing suddenly pushed the native from the East, unprecedentedly overtaking the previous leaders of the rating.

  • Tianhe-2 / Milky Way-2

Location: China
Productivity: 33.86 petaflops
Theoretical maximum productivity: 54.9 petaflops
Power: 17.6 MW

Since its first launch, Tianhe-2, or Milky Way-2, has been the Top-500 leader for nearly two years now. This monster is almost twice as high as in performance No. 2 in the ranking - the TITAN supercomputer.

Developed by the Defense Science and Technology University of the People's Liberation Army of the PRC and Inspur "Tianhe-2" consists of 16,000 nodes with a total number of nuclei of 3.12 million. Operative memory of the whole of this colossal construction, occupying 720 square meters, is 1.4 petabytes, and the storage device - 12.4 petabytes.

Good day STEEMIAN!

This is all free and opensource information and may be of beneficial use to everyone; all you need to do is upvote all posts of @lightingmacsteem and @minnowminer and receive the sharing of the 33 percent of all SBD author rewards on a daily basis, no questions asked.

The @minnowminer program aims to help in the awareness program of the versatile JOULESTEEM circuit, a non-solar non-wind approach to low-power offgrid energy generation by re-distributing and sharing the daily SBD gains of all posts made by @lightingmacsteem and @minnowminer.

The JOULESTEEM circuit is reaching a very encouraging milestone (@lightingmacsteem post #51) that enables it to harness non-conventional offgrid power sources (air and ground as a huge capacitor) which is in turn made to charge big capacity batteries. This makes it very much ideal for low-power energy generation no matter the location, no matter the weather, no matter what time of the day.

To be able to fast-track its adoption worldwide and to where it may be needed most, the @minnowminer program is introduced to encourage all STEEMIANS to help and be part of the quick transformation of the JOULESTEEM circuit.

This is maybe the only straight-to-the-point no-questions-asked sharing scheme that will enable each one to earn and learn as a STEEMIAN.

Keep on STEEMING guys!!!

🚀This is a stellar post! 🚀

I will be featuring it in my weekly #technology curation post for the @minnowsupport project and the Tech Bloggers' Guild! TBG is a new group of Steem tech bloggers and content creators looking to improve the overall quality of the niche.

If you wish to not be featured in the curation post this Saturday please let me know. Keep up the hard work and I hope to see you at the Tech Bloggers' Guild!
