THE EMERGING OF LIFI TECHNOLOGY

I know some people will be hearing of Li-Fi for the first time , just like when i first heard of it many things was just going through my mind what is it all about. my supervisor make it a must for me to work on and present it on the day of the seminar, as my seminar topic i have no choice than to pick it and work on it and it was indeed a wonderful project.

                      FIRSTLY WHAT IS LI-FI

Just like Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) so Li-Fi (Light Fidelity) is a Wireless optical networking technology that use light-emitting diodes (LED) for data transmission. Is designed to used LED light bulb similar to those currently in use in many energy in home and offices I can say is a complementary of WiFi.

      BUT WHAT IS THE BENEFIT  OF LI-FI OVER WI-FI

Light account for 20% of electricity consumption considering much consumption of data, considerd the vulnerability of Wi-Fi.
Li-Fi can lock the door on Wireless signal.
Li-Fi offers higher speed than WiFi
Li-Fi can offer unprecedented bandwidth keep our data safe and so much more.

                        SHORT HISTORY 

The technology began during the 1990's in countries like Korea, Germany where they discovered LED's retrofitted to send data information. This Li-FI technology was first presented and demonstrated by TED Global in 2011 by Prof. Harald Haas. He has continue to shock the world with the ability to use light for communication.

                    First Li-FI Dongle 

With time this dongle will be reduce and turn to chip on our phones, is the ability to transfer data wireless freely from a location to provide data communication through the light medium.

The rate of change of the LED light is so fast that we need a special receiver to detect that and their can work. even light that are dimmed maybe at Home or restaurant Lifi will still work nevertheless.

                IS LIGHT FIDELITY A REALITY TODAY

The answer is 'YES' because is ready for enterprise market and already being installed in the headquarter of Microsoft, also in the headquarter of Nexity and Sogeprom, some property developers, in Paris and other location. Not forgotten the consumer be rest assured that it will be available for you in the near future

                    WORKING PRINCIPLE Of LI-FI

The working Principle or operation of this Li-Fi technology is very simple, if the Led is on it transmit Logic 1 or we say digital 1, if is off is Logic 0 or digital 0. the LED can b e switch on and off quickly which gives nice opportunity for data transmission. So therefore all that is required is some LED and a controller that code data into those Led

                          CONCLUSION

There are many other numerous possibilities we can explore from this Li-Fi technology if consider every bulb will become like WiFi hotspot to transmit wireless data. With Li-Fi technology a world connected by light will definitely become a realty. In the nearer future many devices and appliance will require internet like our fridges, pot, cookers, iron even table e.t.c will be connected to the internet. Light Fidelity will offer the world unprecedented bandwidth and data to continue our exponential growth of the world
