The pain of remembering passwords

One very painful part of the digital world for me is remembering all the passwords. There is a account for everything nowadays and everywhere there are passwords required. How many passwords can one remember :-( and hubby has given me strict instructions to not put down my passwords in any file on the laptop, so that makes it all the more difficult for me. It's not possible for me to remember all the passwords so now barring a few of the most important passwords like of the bank accounts and other finance related, I write down all the others on a piece of paper and kept in a safe place.

Some of the accounts I do not use it regularly and when I have to use it once in a few months it is challenging for me to remember so writing it down is better, and then again I have to be mindful of updating them whenever I change. Also all my passwords are different and there is no connection in them, keeping it unique so all the more I have to store them.

Digital world has it's own advantages and disadvantages. Nowadays there are so many scams and frauds also happening that one needs to be very careful with these matters. Some times I forget to update the password in my sheet when I change it and then when I have to use next it becomes a hassle, then I just go for forgot password option and update it. There are times when even that gets complicated. Just a few days back I updated one of my email passwords and then forgot to update, when I wanted to sign in again, I just could not remember and then I had a headache setting up the new password.

Right now I feel it's so complicated then god knows what it will be in the next 10 years with almost everything going digital.
