At first I simply wanted to comment the post (https://steemit.com/privacy/@voouss/should-you-cover-your-webcam). But after all I decided to write in detail about the matter and make an attempt to set your mind to ease if you still believe that a webcam is really a kind of 'the scariest thing' you can think of… :-)

Actually overwhelmed majority of people don't even have the slightest idea of HOW and WHAT KIND OF their private information is being collected every time they're surfing Internet!..

The main problem is that... GOOGLE HAS YOU!.. And Google does it in a very deliberate and not obvious way...

Let's discuss it step by step…

STEP 1. INSTALL MORE SECURE OS.

You should start with REMOVING WINDOWS. Very often it may be enough to protect your computer from malware (malicious software) intrusion…

You may install Free Open-Source Software (for example LINUX) at least on your home laptop.

But it's not only the OS that allows access to your private data... It's no secret that people are being tracked by THEIR BROWSER.

STEP 2. THE INFORMATION ENTERED A SOCIAL NETWORK WILL BE KEPT THERE FOREVER...

Any personal information we share on Internet especially in social networks is not only used purposefully by analytics professionals, but also is reserved and kept FOREVER. Even if you 'remove' it, a social media profile cannot be permanently deleted.

Not to mention about criminal stories connected with private data exposed on Internet...

STEP 3. PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA BY INSTALLING AD BLOCK PLUGINS and PRIVACY EXTENSIONS.

Let's make point of the definition. PRIVACY is not only a 'screenshot of your computer monitor by means of a webcam', but personal data security in the wide sense. As YOU believe.

'THE TRUE FUNCTION OF PRIVACY' is purposeful data collecting about everything and everybody by means of advanced multilevel systems of analytics including tracking…

And in most cases people don't even have an idea of what kind of information about themselves is being collected at the moment and how for instance a social bookmarking service AddThis uses it. Not to mention about GOOGLE ANALYTICS TRACKING which is installed on this web site as well… Leaving the page you start surfing another one where the same Google 'rules' and collects data for Google AdWords. You don't receive money for it, moreover you don't even know about that!..

Why on earth?!..

You don't even have any idea how much they know about you… They know even what YOU don't know about YOURSELVES… We don't understand what kind of information psychologies and analytic professionals process...

So Google does not really need your 'face' (in case of a webcam). Your conversations are in much more value!..

And while you're surfing that web site let's think about Google which continues using your private data and earning an enormous amount of money on advertising, targeting improvement and… spying. And you still have not a dime...

WTF?!..

So now it's up to you what you will do next. Whether you still proceed with the supporting of Google's monopoly or you discover the truth, take responsibility for your own life and challenge!
