Civil Maps plans on leveraging crowd-sourcing and to encourage its users to participate in a "Map-Exchange" network, wherein metadata extracted from the environmental scans of an autonomous vehicle's sensors are turned into AR/VR maps, sent to the cloud and aggregated/strengthened validated by other vehicles in the network.

Autonomous vehicles 2.0, anybody? This is starting to sound a little bit like an AR cartographic blockchain ...
