We are being spied when we are online?
Since the former CIA and NSA employee Edward Snowden revealed a series of projects that these two agencies have in order to gather information, the world changed. Currently, there are many people who have taken the decision to cover their webcams and, in turn, have decided to use search engines that allow them to access, anonymously, their sites of interest without collecting any information.
Can we avoid being spied on?
The answer is simple, to "not be spied on" we will have to practically make the Internet disappear from our lives (email accounts, social network profiles, stop using P2P applications (Peer-to-Peer), chats ...
How can we protect ourselves from espionage?
There are multiple ways of being able to defend ourselves, although few really do have any effect. Some of the best known are:
• Enable the NoTrack option in the web browser.
• Disable cookies in the browser.
• Use the TOR network on the internet.
• Use VPN services to use another IP address.
• Use search engines to navigate anonymously on the Internet (DuckDuckGo, Startpage ...)
In conclusion, we can say, in a generalized way, our behavior on the internet is monitored constantly day after day, and although many websites and internet services track our browsing habits in order to save our preferences to offer us advertising that may interest us, the possibility that other services may be registering our activity on the network is always open.
