Hello steemians!

This here is my second post on steemit. I will share with you guys today about my insane addiction over smartphones. I hope you will enjoy this post, please read on.

I am sure many of you share the same interest towards smartphones as I do. I developed my interest over smartphones in 2009 when I was studying my 10th grade. I didn’t think my passion towards smartphones would develop into insanity over time. Whenever I purchase a new smartphone I would keep it safe like it’s my own baby. I have used many smartphones in these past 10 years and I would like to share my views about them to you all.

MY FIRST PHONE – NOKIA 6300

Back in 2009, I had my hands on my first phone which was the Nokia 6300. It was a very popular cell phone back then. Many people in the world used to own one of those babies. I loved it like a baby would love its first toy. I would not consider it a smartphone because back in the days these phones used only 2G network here in India and it ran on Symbian OS which was way popular before android and IOS.

I used to mess around with the software by downloading and installing 3rd party java software and games which were not even compatible with that phone. I was not so smart about the software so I used to read about Symbian OS and how applications work and all that stuff. I used the phone for one and a half years before the phone ran into battery issues and I had to replace it.

NOKIA 5230

I am so happy and proud to say that I was an owner of one of the very first and best smartphones in the world. Around mid-2010, I was wanting to buy a new phone as my old Nokia 6300 had issues with battery. I used to watch over what phones are coming out during that year and I came across many smartphones. Yeah, I said smartphones because that was when the smartphone era started to step foot in India. Back then, Nokia, Samsung, LG were the major players and Symbian OS was at the top. Everyone in the world had Nokia phones. Android was a newbie at that time in India. Not many people had android phones.

After a long research about all the major branded smartphones, I had opted for Nokia 5230 because I was already familiar with Symbian OS and the other brands had Java as their OS which was okay when compared to the app ecosystem that Nokia had back then. If you are an Indian from the 90’s most probably you would have owned at least one Nokia phone in your life.

The Nokia 5230 was one of the very few phone from Nokia which had a touchscreen, capacitive touch screens were not in use at the time instead resistive touch screens dominated the whole smartphone market. It was fun to use a touchscreen phone back in 2010. It was like a diamond ring to me. So precious!

Nokia Lumia 720

Nokia lumia 720.jpg
Ah! The Nokia Lumia 720. The smartphone that I wish I could still use in 2018. This smartphone was so good back then that it had everything starting from the best screen, best camera, best build quality, etc. Back in the days when Symbian OS was dying and Android was majorly occupying the smartphone market, Nokia did not opt for android OS for its next generation smartphones instead it partnered with Microsoft and launched its new line up the LUMIA series.

When the Nokia Lumia 920 came out, it was one of the most expensive smartphones in India, and I certainly couldn’t afford it. After about a half year later Nokia launched the Lumia 720 which was an eye candy to me as it had every feature that the Nokia 920 had and it was one of the thinnest smartphones at that time with 9mm thickness.

I loved this smartphone and wanted to buy one. As I was studying and had no pocket money for a new smartphone, I had asked my dad to buy it which he got me after a year. I would show it off to everybody at college and brag about the features to them. I had this smartphone for 2 years and it was one of the greatest phones ever came out.

LG G3

Lg g3.jpg
The LG G3. My very first FLAGSHIP smartphone in my life. To even spice it up, this was the first smartphone my wife had bought me after I got into a relationship with her. I still remember when she told me that she wishes to buy my favourite smartphone for Christmas 2014. I was so happy and never had imagined that I would buy a flagship smartphone in my life as it was impossible for a college student in India to even buy an affordable smartphone.

I will tell you why the LG G3 is so special not only to me but for the whole world. The time when Samsung and apple were ruling the smartphone market, I was not interested in either of the smartphone brands. I was looking for a phone to buy and had my eye on two smartphones 1. LG G3 and 2. HTC ONE M8. Both smartphones were so good at that time. The LG G3 was the first smartphone in the world to feature a QUAD HD display with very thin bezels. The HTC M8 on the other hand had BOOMSOUND speakers which was one of the top notch features at that time.

I chose the LG G3 over any other smartphone and I even have it working still now. This is the time when I had decided to never sell my smartphones and save it to show my kids in the future. I had this smartphone for about two years and it served me well before it died on me.

HTC ONE M8

This was a surprise! Because I never thought I would own one of this. I used to tell my wife about my dreams of walking with two best smartphones in my pocket. She made my wish came true when she bought this for my birthday in June 2016.

Although I loved this phone before I wanted to purchase it, honestly it was not my cup of tea after I started to use it. I had to sell this phone away!

MY CURRENT PHONE – SAMSUNG GALAXY A9 PRO

This is what I use now. My favourite phone of all time! Although I used to not love Samsung smartphones in the past. The features this phone had offered for the price at that time were what made me purchase this smartphone.
The feature set include

  • Full HD super amoled display
  • 6 inch screen
  • 5000 mah battery
  • Very thin
  • A fingerprint scanner
  • Samsung pay
  • Fast charging
And so on. It was indeed equivalent to a flagship smartphone although it was a midrange. I still use most of the features efficiently in this smartphone like when I use Samsung pay when I forget my wallet at home. The 5000 mah battery will easily last me a day of heavy use and 2 days of moderate usage. The fast charging helps this phone charge way quicker. I am still using it for nearly 2 years after having bought in late 2016.

MY NEXT SMARTPHONE???

You guys might have noticed that I never mentioned about any Iphone, that’s because I never owned one. It’s not because I don’t like the brand but because I could not afford one even now. Iphones are usually a lot expensive here in India because of the taxes and you have to sell your kidneys to buy one.

It’s going to be 2019 soon and I am starting to dream about my next smartphone everyday. That’s how insane I am. I mostly dream about two stuff, 1. Food and 2. Smartphones because that’s what I love the most. I wish to work in a smartphone manufacturing company like Samsung, apple one day.

My next choice in mind is the Galaxy S10 from Samsung or the upcoming IPhone XI.
