Coolest Projects for the Rasberry Pi

in #technology7 years ago

I have been playing a bit more with the Rasberry Pi 3 I bought a week or so ago. I then started googling to see what people have done with their pi's. I must say the possibilities are limitless.

I personally now use y Pi as a Media Centre where I loaded LibreElec and it auto boots Kodi which makes it very easy to stream the latest movies and series from around the world. My kids are seriously enjoying this.

You can view my previous post Rasberry Pi 3 - What an amazing little device for more information on how to set this up.

I found many websites with incredible project but this Youtube video from Geeks life really blew me away.

This is a very good channel to subscribe to by the way.

I think I am going to buy a few more of these nice little devices. It is really worth every dollar and like I said the possibilities are limitless.

Happy Steeming!

These tools are changing the world. First by being affordable and secondly, they are powerful, ensuring that the creative process is put through it's paces in which everyone globally has access. Think of them as the figet spinners for the mind. Hope you continue to document your fun.

Great comment and I fully agree with what you are saying. Happy Steeming !!

I use two RPi's at home, one as a NAS that has a hard drive plugged into it, and it distributes media between all the computers and TVs in the house. Another one is a KODI media center (I strongly recommend LibreELEC as a driver for that, it only has KODI and nothing extra, which is perfect for a media center).
Great little devices with a bunch of fun applications.

What transfer speeds are you getting through the NAS?

Don't really know the exact numbers, it's enough to stream two different HD movies to different devices. Copying speeds aren't great though sometimes. I think if RasPi had a USB3 it would've been much better. But it's still enough for simple cheap setup

That is a great setup you have there @nickerpmg. I am building a jukebox from an old Petrol Tank that I have in the back garden. Should be great when done. I will do an article when done. Thanks for the comment.

That sounds supercool. Share pics and stuff when it's done!

I prefer blueberry pi myself

Lol thanks for the comment.

Like everything on the internet , it has its own subreddit

Thanks for the post will have a look at the Rasberry Pi. I must say this is the first time I hear of it but must confess I have fallen behind regarding the ICT new developments

These are cool little toys. Thanks for the comment

Yeah, I actually wanted to get the Rasberry Pi to do the same thing, setup Kodi. I just have it on my laptop for now.

Check out my previous post. It has a tutorial to set Libre Elec, which boots straight into Kodi. I do however want to dual boot with Rasbian.

I got a RPi Christmas calendar for my oldest daughter with one project per day, that was quite fun and very educational, involved both electronics and programming!

That just sounds brilliant. I want one 👍🏻
