Is an iPhone worth it?

Arguments for:
1) Excellent optimization
If we can download an application in the Apple App Store, we can be sure that it will work well on our iPhone. There is also the other side of this coin - if we would like to download even relatively non-demanding app such as Facebook on an older iPhone that is no longer supported (e.g. iPhone 4s), it simply can not be done. Apps either run very well, or don't run at all.
2) Security
Although in theory, the IOS (iPhone's operating system) has as many flaws and exploits as Android, Apple's strict control over what can and can not be done on their phonies, as well as the lower popularity of this ecosystem makes it much more difficult to infect Apple users with viruses.
3) A reliable camera
Buying an Android smartphone by entering the store and taking the first one we see on the shelf, can lead to very unpleasant surprise with the mediocre quality of the camera. There are of course many Android smartphones that are equal to or even better than Apple's offers, but you have to consult the the internet before buying. And in the case of Apple, the matter is simple - if we buy an iPhone from 2016, we can be sure that we get a camera that was in the top 10 in 2016.
4) Retina display
Although on paper Apple displays do not seem to be anything special, and even often have fewer pixels from the competition, in fact their quality is at a very high level. Great color reproduction, great viewing angles, very good back-light. And although it will soon be 10 years since Steve Jobs presented 'retina technology', you don't change the winning squad after all.
5) Social prestige
Having a used iPhone from many years ago for 200€, still guarantees more prestige than having a Porsche phone for several thousand Euro. iPhone is a guarantee that in social situations no one will accuse us of saving on the phone.

Arguments against:
1) Price price and once again the price
At the price of used Apple technology from 4 years ago, we can get new Android "flagship" (- at least in theory top of the line smartphone). For 280€, we will buy a device that competes with the iPhone 10, not with the iPhone 6. For 150€, we will buy a phone that destroys the iPhone 6 in every technical aspect.
2) Personalization
In case of IOS you can change the wallpaper and that's pretty much it. Android can look in infinitely many ways. Don't like the Gmail icon? It can even have the shape of a dog's paw, the colors of the rainbow and, for example, be wider.
3) Closed system and applications
We will install on the iPhone what Apple allows us. On Android, we'll install everything. What's more, such "care" about users does not come for free, and many applications that are free on Android, on IOS cost money. Sometimes just 1€, and sometimes 99€ (in case of Microsoft Office).
4) Expensive accessories
Apple only grants a warranty of 6 months for its accessories. It is not difficult to guess why. Only original ones work (e.g. if we connect a non-original charger that has the right input, the screen will get a message that we need to connect the original and the phone will not charge). The cost is 50€, which is repeatable almost every six months. The good news is that on old iPhone from a few years ago (like the iPhone 6), you can use your own headphones. Unfortunately on newer iPhones, you'll need to get the appropriate adapter from Apple.
5) Deliberate performance limitation by Apple in old models
"And he could have killed" - this is how you can summarize the Apple update policy. If the device is not "supported" and there are no updates, we will not even install Facebook or Snapchat "for our security". If it is "supported", then the updates we get slow it down and "gently encourage" to replace it with a newer model. It's not conspiracy theory, Apple itself admitted it.
6) High repair costs
In general, even for Android phones, repair prices have increased significantly in recent years. But when it comes to iPhones, the simplest repairs can cost more than a few flagship Android smartphones. In the official iSpot shop the cost of replacing the front glass in the iPhone X is 320€, and the casing from both sides 610€.
7) There is no possibility of expanding the memory with the Micro SD card
Most (especially budget) Android phones have little built-in memory (eg 16 GB), but they can be expanded by an SD card. Whether we are missing 8 GB or 256 GB, we buy a card, put it on the phone and that's it. 15€ and a few minutes do the trick. In iPhone, if we choose the 32 GB model, and we run out of space, then we must either think about which data we do not need, or replace it with a model with more space.
8) Poor battery life
Although we got used to the fact that the phone needs to be charged every day, Apple's case is even more dramatic. Up to the iPhone X (1349€ for the top model), all previous iPhones had a battery capacity below 2000 mAh. Unfortunately, it does not make up for this with battery saving mode in the software, and independent tests show that iPhones 6, 7 and 8 are almost at the end of the table, competing with 10-year-old designs from the early era of smartphones.
9) Apple stands above the law
Wait wait, doesn't the law in most European countries require a minimum two-year warranty? Didn't EU regulations order the standardization of mobile chargers? Doesn't the American "Right to repair" prevent the possibility of simple replacement of the front glass leading to the absolute loss of the warranty? Didn't Qualcomm use the term "Fast Charge" first? Of course, it is not the case that other corporations adhere to all rules and regulations. But Apple, in its extremely anti-consumer behavior, is literally mocking the law, and people love them anyway.
10) Limited support in many European countries.
Apple Pay is safer than Android Pay. Siri (Apple's voice assistant) can handle different maps. Apple Care allows you to insure Iphone glass for only $ 39 a month. Apple Music has the most-known rappers. Everything is great, but none of these services is available for example in Poland. And most likely it will never be. Google offers all its services in most countries and most European languages.
