For the slow internet, experimental Uber Lights launched in India
Rowdysharing company Uber has launched an application called Uber Lite for slower Internet and older Android versions. The app is much lighter than the traditional Uber app.
Uber has said that the app was inaugurated in the presence of Peter Deng, head of Uber Rider Experience, and Manik Gupta, vice president of product, map and marketplace Uber Tech Day 2.0. The app is built in such a way that it can be used on any Android device with slower internet. It is possible to run continuously on the slow internet as the app uses very little data. Currently the app has been experimentally launched in India and will be launched in other countries soon.
Manik Gupta said, "Seven crore subscribers receive our services every month. It is only a small part of the world's total population. We wanted to do something for this huge customer outside the US. Uber Light is a big success.
Uber's warning said the size of the new Uber Lighter is less than 5 MB. The app is designed so that it can be managed very quickly. Its response time is only 300 ml. Uber Light app can detect automatic location. To select the destination, a button will work as a tap. The more it will be used, the Uber Light app will become more intelligent. It has an emergency button as a security feature and a trip sharing with family and friends. Using the new Uber app in the regional language, the new features will be added to it.
