Apple iPad Pro with FaceID and new design launched, available in India from November 7

Apple on Tuesday launched new iPad Pro with FaceID similar to what is there in the iPhone X and the iPhone XS. The new iPad Pro also comes with a new design. The typical rounded edges are gone, replaced with straight lines that make the iPad Pro look more rectangular. But it is slimmer, its screen stretches edge-to-edge now that the home button is gone and its size has been significantly reduced compared to existing 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
The new iPad Pro comes in two variants: 11-inch screen variant and 12.9-inch screen variant. Apple said that the new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro will be available in silver and space gray finishes in 64GB, 256GB and 512GB configurations as well as a new 1TB option. The 11-inch iPad Pro price starts at $799 for the Wi-Fi model and $949 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro starts at $999 (US) for the Wi-Fi model and $1,149 (US) for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model.
For now, exact availability dates or prices of the new iPad Pro for India have not been revealed. But Apple has said that the new iPad Pro, the new iPad Pencil and the new iPad Smart Keyboard Folio will be available for pre-order in India from November 7.
The new iPad Pro with 12.9-inch screen has a thickness of just 5.9mm and its overall volume is 25 per cent less than the existing iPad Pro 12.9-inch. On the front of the new iPad Pro, there is the same hardware that is inside the latest iPhone XS to power the FaceID, which will let users unlock their iPad by looking at it. The front camera in the iPad Pro uses a 7-megapixel image sensor.
The similarities with the new iPhone doesn't just end here. The iPad Pro is powered by an amped variant of the processor that is inside the iPhone XS. This is the A12X Bionic processor that has over 10 billion transistors, 8 cores -- 4 high performance cores and 4 power-efficient cores -- and this new chip is 90 per cent faster than the A11 in the existing iPad Pro. Apple also made an astounding claim that the A12X graphics chip is 1000X faster than the graphics chip in the original iPad Pro 8 years ago.
Apple has also equipped the new iPad Pro with a new connector -- for Apple -- that is USB C port.
The new iPad Pro also comes with a new Apple Pencil (will be sold separately) that apart from better control and performance, magnetically attaches to the side of the new iPad. More interestingly when it is attached to the iPad Pro, the Pencil is charged wirelessly through the iPad Pro battery. The new iPad Pro comes with 12-megapixel rear camera, and according to Apple it offers 10 hours of battery life.
The second generation Apple Pencil for the new iPad Pro will be available for $129. The new Smart Keyboard Folio for the new iPad Pro is going to be priced at $179 for the 11-inch iPad Pro and $199 for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.!
