NSA surveillance programs renewed by Senate Edward Snowden first revealed the programs, called Upstream and Prism, in 2013.

With little debate, the US Senate voted 65 to 34 Thursday to renew the law authorizing key surveillance programs run by the National Security Agency.Read more: https://www.cnet.com/news/nsa-surveillance-programs-upstream-prism-edward-snowden-renewed-senate/The programs, known as Prism and Upstream, allow the NSA to collect online communications of foreigners outside the US. Prism collects these communications from internet services, and Upstream taps in to the internet's infrastructure to capture information in transit. Some communications from Americans and others in the US are collected in the process.
The vote Thursday renews for six years Section 702 of the FISA Amendments Act, which authorizes the programs. Last week, the House approved a bill renewing the programs. Though the mere existence of the programs caused an uproar when an NSA contractor revealed them in 2013, the lawmakers' debates over renewing the programs focused this year on whether the FBI should have to satisfy more legal requirements before accessing Americans' communications from NSA databases for the agency's investigations.
So what are the odds that Steemit Inc is a partner in the Upstream or Prism programs? Maybe this all one big honey pot.

The spy agencies are intruding into the lives of the public. The security and surveillance is the right of every state to protect its people but this whole time intrusion into others' homes should morally and legally be not allowed.
We all know that Facebook is, and they pretend that you have some control over your privacy. Steemit is wide open, no privacy.
Your honey pot will be located on the social platforms that fain privacy. There is no privacy left in this surveillance State. All the alphabet soup agencies spy on who ever they please, let's not pretend that they don't.
Anyone remember the ex-girlfriend of the stalker NSA employee? In their own papers they admit that the public is the enemy.
Question, Who do you spy on? Answer, enemies of the State. Question, Have you spied on American citizens? Answer, yes.
I promise you that the NSA can tell you exactly how much crypto I hold with greater precision than I can. No need to spy, the information is all freely available, and every time there's an altcoin airdrop we all publicize exactly how much we're holding.
