Despite the fact that between 70 to 75 percent of the earth’s surface is covered with water, nearly 97% of it is salty or otherwise undrinkable while another 2% is locked in ice caps and glaciers. That leaves just 1% for all of humanity’s needs e.g. agricultural, residential, manufacturing, community, and personal needs.

Now, the probability of exhausting the 1% is pretty slim but this didn't stop the guys over at FONTUS from creating a drinking bottle that creates pure water out of thin air.

These devices were designed to capture the moisture contained in the air, condense it and store it as safe drinking water. 

Powered by solar cells, Fontus water bottles can harvest up to 0.8l water in an hour’s time under the right climatic conditions. 

How The FONTUS Water Bottle Works

Step 1: Warm air enters the bottle with the aid of a small fan that is powered by a small easy to carry solar panel

 Step 2: The humid air gets condensed 

Step 3: Voila! The bottle gets filled with fresh water!
