RE: The Psychology of the Internet Trolling.

in #technology7 years ago

Many label me as troll because of my language. First though, I have a history in a certain NO BAN group on FB (Enlightenment Now 2) as successfully and single handedly getting the admins to ban a troll by enraging him beyond even what that groups acceptable level was(VERY), so I do see myself as some kind of expert at deciphering when people are being awful on purpose. I will never speak my mind on something I am not firmly interested and researched about, and even when I was trolling/baiting that certain individual I would not utter nonsense or emotional reactionary remarks but would break down their comment and choices of words and general approach to discussion/conversation because I understand it's not that far a step from antagonizing a troll to becoming a insensitive asshole. That said, trolling isn't black or white anymore, the subtlety has been reached where it's hard to tell when someone is actually interested in talking about something or simply yanking others chains with every comment, making rhetoric very much similar to just stirring the pot (no intention of growing). Thankfully steem is absolutely wonderful because now the trolls once outed cannot hide and will either quietly descend into steem oblivion or can rise again by mending their ways. I love blockchain, no admins, no powertrips and favorites, just unadulterated INTERNET :D
