Chrome now mutes sites based on your browsing history
Now Chrome's response to auto-playing content is either it mutes everything or play itall out. The most latest version of Chrome automatically mutes and plays audio in tabs based on your browsing history. If your mostly putting a particular site on mute, Chrome will eventually mute it all at once on it own the next time you visit the same site. With sites you allow audio on, Chrome will know to keep it playing.
By default, Chrome will auto play on 1000+ sites where users tend to be comfortable with the sound playing. Google admits that there will be moments where you'll have to unmute a clip manually but it bets this will offer more "predictable" browsing experience as time goes on.
