Learn about PLC (Part 01)

Introduction:
The Full Meaning of PLC is Programmable Logic Controller. PLC is a device by which other machines can be controlled easily. Sometimes it can be used as a substitute of micro-controller. The main difference between the PLC and micro-controller is it is needed to write programs for micro-controller but in PLC this tasks can be done by ladder diagram.

How it works:
It's a microprocessor based control system. A programmable memory is in it and various instructions are stored by which mathematical logic, timing, sequencing these tasks can be done. Mainly it works as a micro-controller but the basic dissimilar is that, it is used in the industry for high power controlling. On the other hand micro-controller is used for low power and minimal controlling.

The working of PLC depends on the processing of input by ladder diagram and in second step, expected result will come by the way controlling of other device can be much easier.

Usefulness of PLC
In automation of a machine, chemical industry, nuclear power generation plant, home automation etc. sectors are using PLC.

How it works:
The are three sections in PLC.
1. Central Processing Unit
2. Input / Output.
3. Power Supply
