Creative Vs Innovative: Know The Difference

Most of the time, people tend to confuse between having a creative mind and an innovative mind. Too many confusion surrounding the issues between creativity and innovation. Some claim that creativity and innovation can’t be measured at all because both of it demands performance which determines the end which is success. It’s imperative that people must know the difference between a creative person and innovative person. Some people are creative but they aren’t innovative. Some people aren’t creative but they are innovative. Some people are both. Clearly, both of this qualities rely on each other in order to achieve something which is invention. Invention needs creativity and innovation. Society often chase creativity, but we also need to pursue innovation. If we take a closer look, there’s some differences between creative person and innovative person.
(i) Creative Person Generates Original Ideas. Innovative Person Improvises The Old And New Ideas

Creative person generates new ideas. He unleash the potential of his mind to perceive and conceive new ideas. It’s about creating a new concept or theory that is easy for people to interpret it in a simpler form. On the other hand, innovative person will improvise the old ideas or the new-released ideas and turn it into something newer. In a scientific terms, we can defined creative person belongs in the qualititative category which is subejctive and innovative person belongs in the quantitative category which is measurable. But creative person is more likely to acquire some trustworthy preliminary data in his idea because
original idea is always better and genuine. Innovative person is capable in introducing some drastic changes into a relatively stable structure or system. Creative person promotes inspiration. Innovative person promotes motivation.
(ii) Creative Person Focus On A New Creation. Innovative Person Focus On A New Revolution

New creation is always the product of an original idea. But a revolution comes from the accumulation of some old and new ideas which is being projected and implemented into something new in a more diverse form. Creative person will face risk a little less than the amout of risk innovative person will face. This is because all innovations involves risk which includes possibility of failures in a much broader scale. For example, when we talk about innovation in revolution, this involves the implementation of some new measures which if it don’t work out, it will give an impact on more than one person, most likely the society. But in a new creation, it involves much smaller scale of practice Usually only in the group of the researchers because no implementation is being made.
(iii) Creative Person Possess Idea-Creating Sense. Innovative person Possess Action-Producing Sense

Creative person is capable in acting and conceiving the original ideas while innovative person is capable in implementing the new ideas and ensure that what has been planned is being carried out. Creativity involves theories but innovation is about practical and hands-on approach. Some creative people come up with new ideas, they display their qualities in creativity but there’s no invention being made when innovation is not being implemented. Creative person possess the ability to come up with a brilliant way of solving problems, finding a solution by thinking outside the box but innovative person will implement the creative idea, take action into solving the problem and create something new in a way no one has ever thought of before. Creativity is the foundation of innovation and innovation is the backbone of creativity. Both of it need each other. Creativity without innovation will not produce any impactful results. Creativity and innovation are both important to achieve some great results in whatever things that we do in this world. Be creative and be innovative because it will foster you drive to succeed. We need more people who are both creative and innovative to run this world, helping our humanity to develop a better future of great nobility and magnificent qualities.
