What is the power being generated with? i.e. Fuel Oil (bunker fuel)
If so, why not just build a power plant in Ghana?
I don't get the added complexity of having to anchor a vessel offshore and run transmission lines, especially when you would need to refuel at some point too.
I think this is a Gas Turbine. You can use LNG (liquefied natural gas) or oil.
The word Lease rings a bell?
It means Ghana can lease it to generate income as well as generate power for herself....
Now that is an interesting twist.
And if Ghana falls behind on their payments, the owners simply disconnect, weigh anchor and head somewhere else.
very true....but this is Ghana's property, they do that when whoever they lease it to refused to pay up😎
Hmm, makes me want to look a little closer at Ghana.
That's some pretty rational thinking.
Rational thinking at a governmental level is pretty rare these days.
