"Früher war alles besser, die Clubs, die Parties, die Drogen"

Gerade Techno scheint von der "früher war alles besser" Krankheit weit mehr befallen zu sein als andere Musikrichtungen. Wer kennt sie nicht, die alten Raver die im Club in der Ecke sitzen und nur darüber philosophieren dass ja nichts mehr ist wie es mal war?
Manchmal bin ich auch so... obwohl rein technisch gesehen die Parties, die Musik und die Dj's sehr viel besser sind als früher hat jedoch jeder von uns diesen magischen Ort oder diese fantastische Party oder diesen wahnsinnigen DJ an den einfach nichts herankommt.
Für mich ist dieser Ort das Stammheim in Kassel.
Das Stammheim ist einer der legendären untergegangen Clubs in der deutschen Techno Szene. Es steht zwischen den großen Namen wie Omen, Ufo, Dorian Grey, Ultraschall, U60311 oder auch Bar25. Namen die heute nur noch "die alten" kennen. Das Stammheim als Club gab es insgesamt von 1994 bis 2002. danach musste die alte Salzmann Fabrik geschlossen werden und es gab das Stammheim nur noch als Partyreihe in wechselnden Locations.
Das Stammheim war weit bekannt, nicht nur für die Parties sondern auch für Bringmann & Kopetzki. Jeder der schon mal eine Raveline oder Groove gelesen hat kennt ihre Comic Strips und wahrscheinlich auch Hotze.

Für mich war das Stammheim immer gleichbedeutend mit DJ Pierre. Pierre war wahnsinnig gut, experimentell, abgefahren und einfach ein toller Mensch. Pierre starb 2012 im alter von 38 Jahren an einem Asthma Anfall. Für mich starb ein großer Teil dessen was das Stammheim ausmachte mit ihm.

Versteht mich nicht falsch, die anderen Mitbegründer und Residents des Stammheim sind ebenfalls tolle DJ's...Marky, Bine, Chi, der Schmeisser. Doch war Pierre der Grund warum man nach zwölf stunden party nochmal sechs weitere dranhängte weil Pierre noch auflegte. Es war fühlte sich an wie zu Hause, man war eine große Familie. Dennoch erinnere ich mich heute fröhlich zurück, denn wenn man nur der Vergangenheit hinterher trauert verpasst man all das tolle was es heute gibt.

"Things used to be better, the clubs, the parties, the drugs"

Especially Techno seems to be more affected by the "in former times everything was better" disease than other music styles. Who doesn't know the old ravers who sit in the corner of the club and just philosophize that nothing is the same anymore?
Sometimes I am like that... although technically the parties, the music and the DJ's are much better than before but everyone of us has this magical place or this fantastic party or this crazy DJ which can not be topped.
For me, this place was the Stammheim in Kassel.
The Stammheim was one of the legendary long dead clubs in the German techno scene. It stands between the big names like Omen, Ufo, Dorian Grey, Ultraschall, U60311 or Bar25, names that today only "the old" know. The Stammheim as a club existed from 1994 to 2002. After that the old Salzmann factory had to be closed and the Stammheim only existed as a party series in changing locations.
Stammheim was well known, not only for the parties but also for Bringmann & Kopetzki. Everyone who has read a Raveline or Groove knows their comic strips and probably also Hotze.
For me, Stammheim has always been synonymous with DJ Pierre. Pierre was insanely good, experimental, crazy and just a great person. Pierre died of an asthma attack in 2012 at the age of 38. For me, a large part of what made up Stammheim died with him.
Don't get me wrong, the other co-founders and residents of the Stammheim are also great DJ's...Marky, Bine, Chi, der Schmeisser. But Pierre was the reason why after twelve hours of party you just didn't go home because Pierre started playing for another six hours. It felt like home, we were one big family. Nevertheless, I happily remember those days, because if you only mourn the past, you miss all the great things that exist today.
