Typewriters.

Manual typewriters are still used in many places because that just happens to be as far along that arc of technology people there have gotten in that location. Electric typewriters require electricity and maintenance, and computers and printers are a whole other level of complexity.

At the same time, manual typewriters have become retro cool in the more developed economies.

It makes me think about the general category of things that become nostalgically indulged in one subculture or part of the world while they’re still au currant elsewhere — product categories that have made the full retro chic loop lapping their own current normal existence elsewhere.

I don’t know if vinyl records count, because I’m not sure if there’s any place in the world where people are still needing to use vinyl records. Digital audio is so inexpensive that I doubt it.

Maybe some old motorcycles?
