The Rise Of The Instagram Pods

Is any interaction ever real these days? It seems as though on Instagram this is not the case. The rise of the pods! 

Social Media is rife with questionable interaction, like farms, follow farms these have existed for a very long time. Instagram is now becoming the breeding ground for more of this kind of activity. But the thing is they have bought it on themselves in the name of greed. 

First was the algorithm change that preference engagement much like the changes made quite sometime ago to Facebook. If you want to be seen you must pay for the right.....right?  

Building up your following to massive amounts is no a hinderance to proper engagement. Unless you have engagement your accounts drop off the face of the world. Unless of course you pay to advertise. 

But like any system that people have livelihoods at stake. The people will find a way. This has given the way to the rise of the instagram pods. 

What is an Instagram pod? 

An instagram pod is a collection of individuals or influencers who get together and agree to like each others photos, create interaction and create engagement. 

The result: Your posts do not suffer at the hands of the algo and you beat it essentially by forcing interaction. 

However, this results in one thing. False engagement. 

Surely there is a better way. 

But, one thing is for certain. The integrity and also popularity of these platforms will flounder eventually as a result of greed. 

It maybe a big call, but it's one I'm prepared to make. As the people will always overcome.
