On January 24th scientists in China announced that they have successfullycloned two long-tailed macaque monkeys. This is an impressive feat accomplished by the scientists since it was speculated that cloning primates would be more difficult than cloning horses, sheep, or other mammals. The monkeys have been named Zhong Zhong and Hua Hua, and they were cloned using the same techniques that cloned Dolly the sheep twenty-two years ago.
