60,000-Horsepower Shockwave Jet Truck Hits 333MPH at the Track, Might be Fastest Yet
Shockwave is essentially one of two jet-powered American trucks: Shockwave, a Peterbilt semi, and Super Shockwave, a 1957 Chevy, Bob Motz. The former is the first of the Shockwave trucks, and currently holds the world record for jet-powered full-sized trucks at 376 miles per hour. It's powered by three Westinghouse J34-48 turbines, which allow the truck to complete the quarter-mile in 6.63-seconds. Super Shockwave is the more recent of the two trucks, and is powered by two Westinghouse J34-48 jet engines. In the full mile, the truck is able to reach 336 mph.
