Apple to improve Wi-Fi sharing in iOS 11
A lot of Apple device/iOS users have been complaining into the complexity of sharing their Wi-Fi connectivity to peers mainly the struggle to memorize alphanumeric string of random capitals just to hand connectivity out. So now, Apple has decided to somehow lessen this burden to users by improving this feature in the upcoming iOS 11 update.
According to a report from 9to5Mac, the new update will feature simpler and faster way to share connectivity: if a device running iOS 11 tries to join your Wi-Fi network, all nearby iOS devices will get a pop-up asking if you’d like to share your password. Owner of the Wi-Fi should simply tap the “Send Password” button, and the other device will autofill the password and connect right then.
Additionally, 9to5Mac pointed out that devices should be close by for this new iOS feature to work making neighbors incapable of spamming your phone for connectivity requests.
The exact release date of this upcoming update is yet unknown but it should be available sometime by fall.
