Sunset At Dawn! Nipsey Hussle. King.
I lost my brother in October last year. This event afforded my family many painful unfell tears, many moments of stopped heartbeats, paused breathes, and unexplainable emotions. We couldn't talk about it, even now. Lots of questions, mostly "why?"
I swallowed, and have been willing to let it slide.
Nipsey Hussle died last Sunday, 31st of March.
Now this is one man that has owned a huge percentage of my news and social media time. He's a rapper, or was.. But I never kept any tabs on his music. I was all about his personality and kingly spirit. Like, how could only one young man control such power of self and sense of responsibility? Reading about his works and sacrifices for his community and friends would keep me inspired for weeks. I feel like I knew him personally, so it hurts bad.
Now suddenly, everything is clear to me. All I have now are answers to my questions.
One can never be too careful, too prayerful, too sensitive, too loving, too humble, too good. Things happen anyway, so one can only live their best life for God, themselves and the people that matter.
Nip was one of a kind. A family/community gentlemen, an exquisite business man, philanthropist par excellence. His humility humbled me, and I've never forgotten one lesson learnt from this man.
I can't say I wouldn't shoot back if I were by his side. I really would.
I'm still in denial, but I think it's beginning to sink in. It hurts really bad, but I'm glad I knew Nip in his lifetime, and in mine.
I can't ever forget, and like I say but can't get to believe for real, RIP King. May your family find peace!
