SELFISHNESS

Hello everyone, I think I should write something about

Selfishness base on dictionary definition, the quality of been selfish or the condition of putting one's own interest before those of others.

I wonder why people find happiness in putting there own interest more or before others (always Me Myself and I).
Although, selfishness canbe impacted into one's life positively or negatively.

Here, I will be writing on the negative part and how it effected a young lady badly.

Once upon a time, there lived a lady in a city named Port Harcourt, Rivers state in Nigeria. She worked in an educational sector as an administrator employed precisely on the 8th day of January 2015.

This lady was treated badly after she had spent good dedicated three years working for this firm. She even laid her own life just to see that the firm never fails, did extra jobs that wasn't in line with her job descriptions, worked endlessly without getting tired , worked even late hours and also slept at work.
She took her job as though it was hers.

It got to a point, she left the office so late at about 11pm to her home. On getting to her bustop by 12am , she couldn't get a tricycle to take her home. Luckily for her, a man stopped to give her a lift that was how she got home that morning, slept for fews hours then off to work at 6am that same day.

She ran errands for her boss even late at night before going home.
Her relationship with God was 0%, she only had sundays to worship God.

This lady had no time for herself, she never had off or leave and even in her dieing state (sick) her boss never allowed her to have a break.

Intensely selfish people are always very decided as to what they wish. they do not waste their energies in considering the good of others.

She struggled to work even in her ill health. Her social life was nothing to write home about.
She did all of these because she had passion for her job.

Her boss treated her as though her life is depended on the job, because to her (boss), she (the lady) needs the job, so she should work her life out to get paid.

Selfish people often mistake selfishness for strength. it takes no talent, no intelligence, no self-control and no effort to sacrifice other people for your ego.

Did I mentioned that she was the oldest staff, hmmm, yes of course she was.

Now the biggest trauma of her life.
She noticed her boss stopped her from writing and issuing of employment and increments in salary letters, she also got to know that her subordinates that just got employed were earning more than her. That was when she realised the reasons for her boss recent actions toward her. She was so depressed, Though she couldn't confront her boss directly, this effected her emotionally that she had to go on her kneels and poured out her heart to God. she was so bittered and she cried heavily for days.

she said to herself, she had the highest qualification and experience on the job ( to the point she was given an award as the most hard working staff).

She tried to figure out how and were she went wrong, then she said to herself this firm does not deserve her. So she wrote a resignation letter to her boss.

Her boss was so surprise that she could resign.

A meeting was held, and her boss begged her not to resign and that she (boss) will do something about it. After a month, things were not going very softly because the lady had lost the confidence to work, as such, some customers had to leave and the lady was blamed because of it.

Some people will only "love you" as much as they can use you. their loyalty ends where the benefits stops

On this faithful day, a letter was presented to this lady stating that her appointment has been terminated , that her service is no longer needed.

Hmmmm.

Some persons can be so selfish always want to be at the winning side.

Her boss don't like her employees to resign at their own pace. She (boss) sees it as belittling the firm.

The lady left the firm and some customers left too.

NOW,
Jobs that was done by one person without her ( the lady) complaning, is now done collectively to the point she (the lady) receives calls everyday from her collegues stating that they never knew she(the lady) was doing them a favour.

Selfish people lose so much in life because even when they realize they are wrong, they don't know how to ask for forgiveness or show regrets.

Now with what had happened , this lady no longer have the zeal to work because she is afraid that she will be treated the same way.

It came to her senses that, she even had to give up somethings for her job, turned down good offers because she love her job, what if during those times she was on the road still 11am - 12am, she was knapped or rapped, what would have been the story today. Thank God she was saved by her creator who knows best.

In life, you have to value people and appreciate what they do no matter how little they contribute.
Appreciating them will prompt them to put in more effort to achieve a greater goal.

Owning a company or been a boss shouldn't give you the right to treat people anyhow. You don't know what tomorrow will be.
Like an adage that says tomorrow is pregnant.

Please we should try as much as possible to always see life as though one's interest is important, but also seeing and putting others interest is the key in achieving one's goal.
