My Ulog # 4: Happy Christening My Boy Gabe

“On this day of baptism may God, who loves us all, smile lovingly upon this child, so innocent and small… and may he guide this throughout the years ahead as blessings light the pathway where those tiny feet are led.”

On this day marks the baptism of my third son Gabe Steffano. At barely three months old he is now finally a christian just like his two elder brothers Clarence Alec and Seth Liam.

May the Good Lord of heavens guide him and bless him throughout his years as he begins his journey into this life that he may grow up to be a good christian.

I for myself as a father and as a parent fervently pray that he may follow the pathway of righteousness as he begins his own life's journey into this world. That he may grow up what a good christian should be, that he may recognize his own weaknesses with full humility and introspection and that he may discover his own potentials and put them into good use in helping others.

Well, to you my son this is I pray to the Lord our god.

Our dear Lord,

I thank you for this very precious and special blessing! For this new sweet bundle of joy and a source of our happiness and pride that you sent straight from You.

As delicate and fragile as he is, his perfect little fingers and toes, the way he sleeps like a true little angel, and the way he smells like heaven, the love that bubbles up – unmatched in its depth. It’s a wonderful kind of overwhelmed.

I fervently pray to You my dear Lord to bless this baby. Place a shield of protection around his little body and guard him as he grows. Keep him safe and healthy always, Lord.

Help this dear one to know he is deeply and wholly and forever loved – first by You, and then by so many of us. Bless this baby, Lord, and bless us as well his parents.

Help him adjust to his new normal as he welcomes a whole new person into his life, hearts and home. Give him even one whole night of sleep, and give him strength and energy when the nights are short. Blanket his home in peace, grace, and love.

Thank you Lord, for this new life. I praise and thank You for your good and perfect creation. Amen.
