Inaugural #teamsingapore blog post contest - Register before 24th Feb 2018!
Hi Steemians! Today is Lunar New Year Eve. Lunar New Year is a holiday which is celebrated by many all over the world. In Singapore, we have a tradition to give out angbao (red packets) during Lunar New Year representing well wishes. Usually these red packets will contain small sum of money to symbolize wealth and good fortune.
Hence, during this festive season, I am going to give out a small angbao through the very first #teamsingapore blog post contest! Read on to learn more.
How to participate?
Note that these are all mandatory requirements for contest entry:
- Make a blog post which mentions "Singapore" in it.
- Tag #teamsingapore, #contest and #steem in your post. (Note that you can tag whatever you want with the remaining 2 tags)
- Reply to this post with the URL of your blog entry.
Simple right? Let's talk about the prizes next.
What are the prizes?
Prize pool: 3.50 SBD (contributed by me) + All SBD Author rewards for this post + Any other contributions received
The prize pool will be divided into 7 parts and the top 3 entries will be awarded prizes. First prize winner will take 4 parts, second prize winner will take 2 parts and third prize winner will take 1 part.
For example, if we ended up not having any author reward for this post (I hope not 😝), the total prize pool will be 3.50 SBD. In this case, the winners will get:
- First prize: 2 SBD
- Second prize: 1 SBD
- Third prize: 0.50 SBD
Grading Criteria
The principles of the grading criteria are as follows:
- To encourage quality posts on Steemit
- To promote Steemit to the rest of the world
- To promote the #teamsingapore tag within Steemit
As such, I have developed the grading criteria below:
- Proof of Quality - 70%
- Proof of Share - 30%
Proof of Quality

| Vote Count | 35 points | Only the top 20 entries in terms of vote counts will be considered. The rest will not get any points for this category. |
| Post Views | 35 points | Only the top 20 entries in terms of post views will be considered. The rest will not get any points for this category. |
Vote count score calculation:
The post with the highest vote count in the top 20 will get the full score of 35 points. Score for other entries will be calculated with this formula:
Example:
If the post with the highest vote counts has 100 votes. And your entry has 90 votes, your entry will get a score of (90/100) * 35 = 31.5
Post views score calculation:
Similarly, the post with the highest post views count in the top 20 will get the full score of 35 points. Score for other entries will be calculated with this formula:

If the post with the highest view counts has 100 votes. And your entry has 90 views, your entry will get a score of (90/100) * 35 = 31.5
Proof of Share

Interested parties who wants to contribute to the prize pool, please send me SBD with the memo "Contribution for #teamsingapore contest 1". As an appreciation for your contribution, a shout out will be given in the results announcement post.

Deadline for entry submission: 24th Feb 2018, 15:00 SGT
Date for grading: 3rd Mar 2018 (snapshot will be taken at 15:00 SGT)
Results announcement and prize awarding: 4th Mar 2018

Q: Is this open for Singaporeans only?
A: No, all can participate but please refer to qualifying post criteria above.
Q: Can I submit multiple entries?
A: Yes. But only the entry with the best score will be considered for prizes :)

Anyone can participate, but the blog post must mention the word "Singapore" somewhere, and tag #teamsingapore, #contest and #steem. Cheers!
