Borneon Sunbear is the smallest bears in the world
Seeing Borneon Sun Bears in the wild has always been a dream for most Bears lover out there!
We came at a perfect time to see Sunbears at 0900am. Based on the observation at the Borneon Sunbear Conservation Centre most bears are active during morning time which is temperature cooling. We had seen several bears on the ground as well up on the tree.
Most important is the Borneon Sunbear Conservation Centre is really made us aware of all of the environmental, as well as poaching is one of the most problems threatening the bears the reason is some believe poachers hunt them for body parts value medicinal value as well the fur and claw.
There is a lot to learn about these amazing creatures. Most of the bears in the Conservation is were rescue and help by the Sabah Wildlife department enforcement (Sabah Government Authority)which is kept as pets by human, and wounded before their arrival basically all the bears on going at the rehabilitation is have they own background history in the past.
The goal of this rehabilitation is to rehabilitate the bears is to teach them to live in the wild as they should, instead of being displayed as exotic pets.
The Centre feed the bears coconuts fruit and corn because in the reality Borneon Sunbear often eat crops such as oil palm, coconuts and banana. The objective is the bears are supposed to be learning to forage and live independently so they can be released back to the wild.
