First Steemit Meetup In Kuching And Other Firsts For Me
Ever since I joined Steemit a year ago, I have always wanted to meet other Steemians face to face. I always felt a bit envious when I saw posts of other Steemians meeting in other cities, wishing too that I could join in. @bitrocker2020 tonight gave a talk about Steemit and I was there too. I considered this event to the first Steemit Meetup in Kuching although technically those attending the talk, some have to apply and some had yet their application approved. Well both @bitrocker and me are Steemians, and after the talk we had a very fruitful and interesting discussion on our experiences at Steemit and on how to develop Team Malaysia. I really appreciate @bitrocker2020 on the effort that he has put in and for flying all the way from Kuala Lumpur to promote Steemit in Kuching.
This week, there were a number of firsts for me. It is also the first time that I bought Steem. Although the amount is small (only 100 steem), this represent a paradigm shift for me. Since I have been spending so much time and effort at Steemit, I might as well invest in Steem, build up my Steem Power and increase my influence. This is also a refection of my trust and believe in the potential of Steemit. I strongly believe that in the long run, the price of Steem will go up and up. So now my role at Steemit has expanded from writer and curator to investor as well. The fact that this is a peer to peer transaction also makes it to my knowledge the first time there is direct transaction without going through exchanges between two Malaysian Steemians. @awesomianist transferred his Steem directly to my Steemit wallet and I just banked in the agreed sum into his bank account. By doing this, we not only save transaction fees but also time as well. I do hope that some one will create a platform where peer to peer transaction can take place without the need to go through exchanges and incurring transaction fees.
I hope that there will many Steemit breakthroughs and many more firsts for me.

Always the first time for everything. Create you managed to 1) connect in real life with a Steemian and 2) bought your first Steem. I met the forst Steemian when I was not at Steemit, she actually told me about Steemit and a couple of months later I was born in our community :) I never bought Steem, other than buying it from other cyptos I have on crypto exchanges, but all that crypto came from my earnings at Steemit as well, except some Bro I got through playing the radio with Bitradio.
And the best part is that the price of Steem went up after I bought. I hope to stay invested in Steem for the long term because I truly believed in Steem.
u are so lucky. coz im buying during the price is very high. RM8/steem. now still great Rm5 to RM6. keep buying.
Even if you buy at RM8, when the price moves up (which I am sure in the long term that it will), you will still gain. Every price drop is actually a buying opportunity when you realize the potential of Steem and Steemit.

Seeing how dedicated @bitrocker2020 have been for the past few months have been really a motivation and inspiration to all of us in #TeamMalaysia, I believe.
Even so, no one is insignificant and everyone plays a vital part to our growth as a community in the platform.
It was a pleasure dealing with you and everything is so seamless and simple. I believe we are the first documented peer-to-peer Steem trading in Malaysia. I have no problem doing the same thing again in the future.
It is also my pleasure to do business with you. Hopefully you can organize one meetup or sharing session in Miri.
I'm thinking of running my second meetup in Miri in fact!
That is a very good idea. I am quite encouraged by this and I am open to the idea of a second meetup in Kuching.
That's a wise move recently Steem goes up again. However if it goes down you can still use them as your advantage in curating. Great post btw!
I am so happy that the price of Steem went up. I am here for the long term and I intend to stay invested in Steem.

I have to miss the meet up this time. Too bad. Maybe next time. I am interested to buy Steem too but need to figure out how to do it.
If possible buy it peer to peer so avoid all the hassle and transaction fees.
