Trip to kapuas hulu

Here are some photos from my last trip to Kalimantan Barat, kapuas hulu area.

We stayed in a small village situated on the sungei mendalam, upper kapuas. To get here one bus from kuching about 12 hours into kalimantan.

The tribe is called kayan mendalam and the festival was called dangeh. During celebration i was asked to go up on the platform and receive a blessing and the kayan name of Kuleh(meaning leopard) from the priestess.
