2018 | Year of the DOG | Yeap... it's a doggie world out there!

Chinese New Year is less than 10 days away. This year, we are ushering the year of the DOG.

The 1st day of Chinese New Year will be Feb 16, 2018. Therefore everyone who is celebrating this auspicious day will have their mandatory Family Reunion Dinner with their family on the Eve of Chinese New Year.

Apart from Christmas, I love CNY because we get to toss this dish we called YEE SANG. Now, there are many types of Yee Sang dishes, some with salmon, some with expensive condiments (sometimes they put gold flakes).

It is believed that while you toss this dish with your friends and family and at the same time shouting blessings and wishes of what you hope for in every year, the higher you tossed, the more you tossed, your wish will come true.

Has it worked on me... maybe yes, maybe not... but what have you got to lose right... it's FUN and it's delicious too.

Now since last year (2017), the eCommerce industry in which I love to be in.. we self-organised our own CNY gathering. My colleague Prasad and I started this idea to have just casual dinner get-together where we all 'go-dutch'.

So we were thinking, just 5 tables or so will do... so that's it's easier to manage... Words got out so fast we ended up with having 170 people joined us.

Business owners from all sorts of eCommerce solutions will make time to attend and be with their buddies and catch up what they have done and what they can possibly do.

Below are some of the highlights of 2017 eCommerce CNY Gathering we had where over 170 players attended.

(It doesn't matter what race you are. The Indians, Malays even Arabs will join this gathering)

(I felt like it was my birthday dinner or even wedding dinner as I go to table after table to snap photos of them attending to keep those memories)

(I cannot stop taking wefie... i was an FB junkie, hahahaha)

So back in December 2017, friends in the industry asked me if there'll be a CNY Gathering this 2018. I told them I didn't want to do it cos it's not easy to organise this without volunteers.

I was blessed to have friends who are willing to chip in their time to help me and make better suggestions that I can't make alone.

It was painful to say 'no' to them because I can see them having so much fun when i looked back at the 2017 photos. So here we are looking forward to this Thursday Feb 8 CNY Gathering for the eCommerce Junkies...

Those who make time for this year's gathering, volunteers, prize sponsors, door gift sponsors... I thanked you from the bottom of my little heart. Without everyone, we won't have this CNY gathering to look forward to.
