Rocket League [Kindda review] -- While i was away from Steemit
Hey there!
It's been quite a while since i posted anything here on steemit as there's so many things on my plate currently... hence, the hiatus from Steemit... though, i've been receiving plenty of notifications on my discord app from "new followers" whom i'm not sure why... since i did not post anything lately...
and also lots of notification regarding steem & SBD transfer from @smartsteem as i delegated some of my SP to them while i'm away... Not that i'm gonna pull back those SP at the time being because i don't think i'll be able to post a lot also..
Anyways... regarding Rocket League..
So.. last week Rocket League was "Free" for the weekend... as i was rather intrigue by the game, seeing how it's basically just football... but cars, instead of human players... curiosity got the better of me, so i downloaded and gave the game a go..
Initially i wanted to stream the game on @dlive platform... but my potato machine ... okay, not so potato machine couldn't really run it without lagging (at the lowest settings!)
So that didn't happen... i ended up closing all my other applications, Firefox, Thunderbird, Discord, and all other misc apps which were running in the background to get some decent gameplay (*again, using the lowest settings)
All i had was some shots from my phone while the game was loading .. here's the shots:
I was playing offline mode with the bots to basically learn the game mechanics and test the game...
in short, i really enjoyed the game, despite it lagging on me occasionally...
p/s: haha yes, i actually brought my mechanical keyboard from Malaysia to Taiwan for this 3 months' stay haha..
anyways, the game was rather interesting, i enjoyed the game quite a bit... though it was rather repetitive .. but maybe that's because i was playing against bots ..
the customization-ability was rather interesting, basically, the players get to unlock skins occasionally after each match... i assume there would be a store somewhere for players to actually spend real cash on skins .. ( i didn't check, and now i can no longer check as the game license has expired on my steam store... cuz it was only free for the weekend)
I ended up playing "14 weeks" in the season match ups ... and did not actually finish the season... cuz i was busy, and the need to shut down every single other application just to play the game was really a pain in the back... so yea..
playing as a vehicle, jumping around, boosting your car to chase a ball.... demolishing opponent's vehicles... goal during the start of each round... those are my impression on this game... and because each round last 5 minutes... it's so tempting to say "ah... just another round" ... but end up playing 5 more rounds... haha
but it's good fun i guess..
minor blogging
Thesis progress... is kindda bad at the moment... in fact, i've not touched it for the past 2 weeks... currently in the midst of writing a journal paper... hoping to get it published in a high tier journal called "Springer's Multimedia Tools and Applications"
i guess that's all for now... need to hit the hay.. and continue with the journal writing tomorrow :)
Thanks for dropping by :D
p/s: oh yea, if you would like to get "passive income" like what i'm getting on a daily basis... do try to delegate some SP to smartsteem... you can use my referral link below ;)
I just recently found this game myself, I mean I knew it existed but never actually played it (or even wanted to) until a few months ago, and it indeed it a lot of fun once you get the hand of it.
I've actually been doing some "historical" gaming posts lately, covering noteworthy games released in certain years (just made two about 93 and 2000) and the concept adopted by the game was brought to life very well, similar sort of ideas were relatively popular in the NES days, but there's been nothing done in that direction until Rocket League came around
heys, thanks for dropping by... that's an interesting observation and analysis of the gaming history :) didn't know that this kind of idea was popular during NES days... didn't have a NES those days haha..
